“You Can Touch This”
This cover illustrates disability personified by a shape – it is a provocation for those people who are afraid of contact with disabled people. The finger prints on the body indicate areas in which a person would prefer to have contact with others. The sub title calls on the song by MC Hammer – Can’t Touch This. ‘This’ is a secondary provocation in English, which is a term used to indicate objects or things – very often we find ourselves behaving as if we were in front of an inanimate object. ‘Disability is not infectious’ says the advertisement for a brand of medicine which has some side effects. Here, there are no side effects!!
